WESTPAC IFFM AWARDS 2018- #IFFM 2018 Diaries Part -2

When the brilliant constellation of stars gather somewhere on earth, they shimmer in brilliance and grandeur.
Such was the glimpse of the WESTPAC IFFM AWARDS which were held tonight at the PALAIS THEATRE, MELBOURNE .

Welcoming the guests , an ensemble of dancers and musicians escorted them to the red carpet .

The awards ceremony was opened with address from the festival director Mitu Bhowmick. While the prog proceeded and Sadiya Ali took the stage to make people laugh with her standup comedies , ALI FAZAL, the internationally recognized and acclaimed actor , who was the head of jury for the BMW short films festival shared the two winners of the same competition.
There was an Indian winning movie- TO LET and another Australian counter part named FOUND.
The theme this year was of INCLUSION and it gave a wide range of topics to be included in this theme as the filmmakers evoked the poignancy of the present day crisis of minorities alongwith the discrimination of people based on gender, religion, caste, families, profession and much more.

The Australian based director thanked IFFM for taking a bold step in including the controversial prevailing topic of minority women in the world and our surroundings .

With the awards function stepping ahead , MUSIC composers SACHIN JIGAR enthralled the audience with their foot tapping melodies

Rajeev Masand walked on stage in between to introduce the jury members of the IFFM Film festival, introducing SUE MASLAN , NIKHIL ADVANI, ANDREW , SIMI GAREWAL, JEFFREY .

Every film makes me enter into another world and time , Sue expressed while replying to Rajeev's question

Vicky kaushal and Pooja Mehta of MANHARI METALS gave the award of LOVE SONIA

Special mention was given to - Guli Galiyan - In the shadows

IFFM WESTPAC Diversity award was awarded to the international actor FREIDA PINTO for her work in diversified roles .

She had debuted in the Slumdog millionaire which was globally acclaimed.

She gave the credit to the stories which are being shared which reveal diversity.

There was Selfies Contest organized by IFFM and its winner Lokesh Sharma 's name announced.

For supporting role - RICHA CHADDHA won the award for her role in Love Sonia. She recited few lines of urdu shayari of teh legendary KAIFI AZMI uth meri jaan ..teri hasti bhi ek cheez ,..uth meri jaan - for women in the house.

As Rajkumar Hirani bagge dteh best director award , he said I will take this award back home for Ranbir Kappoor who almost spent one full year to become like Sanju

He adjoined, as Vicky said, I love Melbourne and if we could leave our heart definitely it would b here.

Riya recieved the WESTPAC HERO AWARD

Meanwhile the best actress award went to : Rani Mukherjee for Hichki and she expressed her joy of receiving the first award after becoming a mother.She said I met the penguins and kangaroos and this was best award of life.
